Tugby Results Updated for December 28th, 2014

During this holiday season, we had fairly light attendance last Sunday, but were able to play five games with four players.  It is my opinion that playing with two person teams is incredibly difficult.  One person out of position by just a touch is likely to result in a score.  We were still able to play and I think we had a good time. Below are the results.

The next time we see each other it will be 2015.  Have a great and safe New Years Eve!

Tugby Results Updated for December 21, 2014

Many many thanks to Lynn Parkin for running the games on the 14th.  I did a winter escape to some warm weather on the ocean.  It was marvelous.  Below are the results for the 14th and the 21st and below that are the results for the season so far.

I hope that all of you had a marvelous Christmas and connected with family and friends.  I managed to eat way too much turkey, stuffing, etc. etc. etc.  It was good!

I'll see you on Sunday!!

Tugby Results Updated for November 16th, 2014

A good group of Tuggers and a good set of games.  The "tilt" mentioned in my last dispatch seems to have resolved itself with the Red Team winning 3 of the 5 games and the Green Team winning 2 of the 5.

The Fall Season ends on November 30th and right now Lynn and Forrest are neck and neck.  There are three components (in my humble opinion) to having the most wins.  First is a luck component (since teams are randomly drawn - some teams are better than others).  The second component is skill - other things being equal, your skill will help.  The third is simply coming to play!  So come on out and play with us.

Tugby Results for November 9th, 2014

The Linden Gods smiled on us last Sunday.  There was "no" lag anywhere to be found on Santa Cruz.  There DID seem to be some concern that the Tugby Pitch was tilted with the Red end down.  That would help to explain the domination by Green teams.

Those of you that played last Sunday are now famous.  Erin68 Frog was filming the action and has posted it to YouTube.  Take a look.  I have told her that she had the time of play wrong.

You Have More Control Than You Think

There has been a lot of recent talk about lag conditions in sailing. Much of the discussion centered around Linden Lab's mistake in placing all of the Blake Sea regions on a new type server (SNACK) and ensuing problems that created. We are back on regular SL Severs for the moment and will likely be returned to the SNACK servers once they get things straightened out. SNACK promise to greatly improve preformance by offloading the task of texture loading from current Apache servers that run other aspects of the regions.

Now that things are settling down a bit I felt it was time to take out the old "personal lag" discussion and share it with everyone (especially those who are newer in SL (in my case that would be anyone under 10 years SL age)). HAHAAHA. Just a joke folks.

So, don't miss the new post on the MarkTwain White Journal that can really help you reduce your lag experience on the water.  Click HERE.

Tugby Results Updated for October 5th, 2014

Sorry that I didn't get last weeks results updated and posted.  Life just got awfully busy for awhile there.  It seems to have slowed down a little and my new computer is working marvelously.  LOVE having a solid state drive to boot from.

Anyway, we had good sessions the past two weeks although last Sunday did seem to have more lag patches.  Everyone bore with it and we had some folks come back and play that we haven't seen for awhile.  Jamal and Kiki Nerido joined us!  Welcome back.  Results are below.

The Fall Season of Tugby Begins!

I love the Fall of the year.  These past few days in "real life" there has been a real chill in the air, it has been a welcome relief from the hot muggy days of late summer.  There is a respite that we call Fall, before the winds of winter appear.  THIS along with Spring are my favorite times of the year.

Last Sunday saw the first games of the Fall season of Tugby.  The results are below.  I look forward to seeing all of you at the games on Sunday morning at 8 am.

Some of you may know that I have been involved with the Sail for Life / Relay for Life in Second Life since the very very beginning.  I have been trying to help the effort by making videos of various events.  One of the most fun events is the ChippenSail event.  Below is the video for the event for this year.  If you want to see your favorite dancer, use the following time stamps.  Many thanks to all these men who participated, the ladies that bid on them, and to Allie Tomsen for organizing the event yet again.  Benny did a great job on doing the introductions of the dancers and providing the music.  It was GREAT fun!

Tugby Results Updated for July 13th

Last Sunday was a genuine pleasure to see an "old" player.  Rikk Lovell hasn't played for quite some time, but joined us and I hope he will come back!  We didn't have a lot of players, I suspect that the Finals of the World Cup drew our regulars away.  Come and play with us next week!

Tugby Results as of June 22nd

My apologies for not getting last week's and this week's results posted earlier.  I was working on three videos for the Pirate / Mer communities to use at the SL 11 B and that just takes a bunch of time.  Plus, as you may have seen, Hollywood Real Estate has added a number of new regions to the north of San Nicolas and Santa Cruz with a Pacific Northwest theme.  You really should go over and especially check out the Columbia River.  It is a fantastic serious of regions.

But enough of the shameless promotion, the results for the Summer Season are posted below.  We welcomed a number of new players last Sunday and I suspect that there will be more new players as a result of the Tugby plot at the SL 11th Birthday.  I want to especially thank Carla, Yasmine, Allie, and Forrest for their work at making that happen.  A big shout out to them!!
