We had a small group of players so we played two on two again. We did get five games in. Yasmin had to leave early, so I filled in so we could play that last game. I will be on vacation next Sunday (I leave tomorrow), so you folks need to play nice with each other. I'm sure that you will. Results are below. Results for the day:
We didn't have very many players last Sunday, so our games were 2 on 2. To me that is very difficult to play, if you are out of position at all the other team can fairly easily score. We persisted however! Scores are below.

I want to express my thanks to Lynn Parkin for stepping up and running the Tugby games last Sunday. As you know, I was out of town and unable to run the games. Last Sunday marked the beginning of the Summer Season of Tugby and the results are below.
Last Sunday saw the end of the Spring Season of Tugby. Spring saw 12 different people playing. The results for the day and for the season are below as always. And just a reminder! I will be out of town this Sunday through Thursday on a consulting assignment. I am sure one of the regulars will be able and willing to run Tugby. While the cat's away the mice will play!! See you when I return. Day's results: 4 / 4 CARLA 0 / 3 CAROL 2 / 4 FORREST 1 / 3 LYNN 1 / 4 MIKKY 3 / 3 SONIA 1 / 3 YASMIN

Second LIfe seemed to treat us better last Sunday than it has in the recent past few Sundays. Allie was able to play with us - YAY... and Sonia seemed to be able to get less lag. I hope these trends can continue. We were able to play four games. Results are below.

We had a new player join us last Sunday, Brenley Cortes (caititude). She played a long time ago and came back to join us! Welcome to Bren! We were able to play two games and the first was particularly competitive. Red zoomed out to a 2 - 0 lead, but Green came back to win! Well done to both teams. Below are the results for the day and for the season so far.

Another fun Sunday morning in Second Life! The last game was won by the Lag Gods, so we declared it a tie (which it actually WAS when we stopped playing). I wish I had a magic wand that would stop the lag, but I don't. So I just hope that we can all realize that "**it happens" and try to roll with the flow. I know that is easier said than done, but we can strive for that! It is always good to see you all and I hope you enjoy it. Tomorrow is Easter Sunday, but I am not a particular religious person, so I will be at the Tugby Pitch to run games. See you tomorrow!!

Last Sunday marked the end of the Winter Season of Tugby League play. Winning the league is recognition of someone who is able to faithfully attend the Tugby matches and has the luck (or skill... or a combination of the two) to win games. Team play means that you win based not only on your contributions to the team effort, but also the skills of your team members. While winning does feel good, having fun is more important. See you next Sunday for the start of the SPRING season. Results for the day: 2 / 4 CAROL 1 / 4 DAGGER 0 / 4 FORREST 4 / 4 LYNN 2 / 4 SONIA 3 / 4 YASMIN Results for the season:

Last week we played two games. That doesn't sound like much, but the first game took 22 minutes and the second game took 25 minutes. The second game featured TWO ties. Thanks everyone for playing and I hope to see you next Sunday.
Last Sunday we played three games that were very competitive. Since there was some concern over avatars wearing too many scripts, Yasmin volunteered to do an Avatar Script Counter that is integrated with the Team Selector. Below is the announcement sent out by Yasmin.
Ahoy Tugby Captains! .o/ We are always having to deal with lag, due to a variety of causes - but one that we do have some control over is the amount of script resources consumed by our avatars. Its easy to overlook our attachment script count, its normal to be running several, but when we play tugby we should make a conscious effort to reduce our scripts to a minimum to do our bit to avoid lag. In order to help remind us of our script load I have added a feature to the Team Selector on the dock that will nag anyone with a larger than modest script count. Here is how it works (currently) * script count, memory and runtime stats are reported for captains as they sign up, anyone with more than 20 scripts gets a personal notice * scan is run right after the teams are selected, so once per game * scan checks everyone in the PARCEL, including passengers and spectators. It wont include people on the public and residential parcels elsewhere in the sim * device reports total and average avatar script usage * list of avatars & their resource use is sorted by total script count * the device will shout the name of the avatar with the highest script count * all avatars with more than 20 script are listed with their resource stats Of course script count is not the only cause for lag. And arguably the total count is not the best metric for measuring server resource load (runtime use is perhaps more helpful). But hopefully this will encourage us all (players and spectators) to keep our script down to a reasonable level. Thanks for your consideration and responsible use of scripts. But most of all please lets not let this become a source of drama, we should focus on the fun of playing tugby :-) Yasmin Below are the results for the day: 2 / 3 ALLIE 3 / 3 CARLA 0 / 3 CAROL 1 / 3 DAGGER 0 / 3 FORREST 1 / 3 LYNN 2 / 3 SONIA
3 / 3 YASMIN and the results for the season so far:
We were only able to complete one game last Sunday. The game did last for 30 minutes and featured two ties. We started a second game, but people were having trouble staying connected so we finally gave up. Better luck on Sunday!! For those of you that follow the rankings closely you will notice a discrepancy between last week and this week. I discovered a discrepancy (error) and have corrected it. Consider the previous reporting as "alternative facts". We had a number of folks come to watch last week and one new player (Ruz Saxondale). In order to get him up to speed (he had played before), the first game we played was not used in the season standings. We only got one game in for the record, but that game lasted almost 30 minutes. Whew!

We had a good series of games last Sunday with one of the games including two ties! I do want to give you a head's up regarding tomorrow, January 15th. My plans are to be there to run Tugby, but in RL I live in the target zone for the ice storm in the US Midwest. If I lose power, I won't be able to do Tugby. I think that is a very slim chance, but wanted to give you a head's up. Hope to see you all tomorrow!
