Tugby Results Updated for March 22nd, 2015

A familiar face came to Tugby last Sunday!  It has been a long time since we have seen Stuart Choche, and he has not lost his Tugby playing touch.  Welcome back Stu!

The chat repeater that I had installed was a failure.  Everybody was so used to shouting that when they shouted multiple repeaters would "hear" what they said and repeat it.  Back to the drawing board!

Below are the results for the day and for the season.

Tugby Results Updated for March 15, 21015

We had another record turnout with ten people coming to play.  We had one new player come - welcome to Darksnow Petrovic!  The first game was very long... took 30 minutes to play.  There were two ties in the game with great competition.   The second game was not quite as long.  The scores for individuals are below with the cumulative scores below that.

We had two guests come to watch, Inara Pey and her friend Maya came to watch and Inara has written a GREAT blog post about it.  Hop on over to her blog to read it.  Great pictures as well.

I've installed a different chat relay system at the field. It *should* allow anyone on the red or green ends to simply say something in chat and it automatically relays it to the Tugby Dock, the other end of the field, and to the observation deck.  No need to shout!  The system is called the "Bright Chat Relay" and the results look like below:

[13:02] <BCR Tugby Dock> Nber Medici: ahoy
[13:12] <BCR Tugby Dock> Nber Medici: hey there ... get ready to play
....
[12:51] <BCR Green> Nber Medici: ahoy there
.....
[12:54] <BCR Red > Nber Medici: ahoyI

BCR standing for Bright Chat Relay and the rest of the text gives the location the chat originated from.  Hope it works!!  Will see tomorrow.

Sail for Life - Art Auction

One of the events planned for Sail for Life this year will be an Art Auction.  Some of you may know that there is a park in the center of Holly Kai Estates which contains art work for sale by artists in Second Life.  I'm organizing a Nautical Art Auction to benefit Relay for Life of Second Life through the Sail for Life team.  The event will take place the weekend of May 15th - 17th.  There will be a kickoff part on Friday the 15th and a closing party on Sunday May 17th.

The art to be auctioned will be Exclusive Offerings by the artists (i.e. one of a kind).  if YOU are an SL artist and would like your work to be considered please contact the Gallery Manager, Autumn (autumnxrain).  There will be a limited number of pieces, so get your bid in early.  We want both 2D and 3D artwork.

Let me know if you have questions or comments.

Tugby Results Updated for March 8th, 2015 - The beginning of the Spring Season!

Last Sunday we had a record number of people show up to play Tugby.  We had a total of ten people!

I've done some modifications to the Tugby field which I hope will mean that players at one end of the field will be able to hear the comments shouted by the players at the other end. It is just a Chat Repeater, the same one that lets us hear comments from the Observation Deck.

Tugby Results for the Winter Season 2015

The winter season is complete.  We have a three-way tie for first place!  Lynn, Forrest, and Dagger each finished with 28 wins under their belts.  While all three had 28 wins, Forrest had the best win percentage of 71.8%.  That is an outstanding win percentage.  Congrats to them and to everyone who plays.

At the end of a season, I would like to express my personal thanks to ALL that come and play.  While we do track wins... the REAL win is the comradeship and enjoyment that I think you all experience.  We care about each other.  I would like to repeat my personal thanks to Yasmine for making my Sunday mornings MUCH less stressful by doing some terrific automation of the game.  Thank you Yasmine!!  My personal thanks also go to Lynn who makes my life easier by providing me with a notecard after the games which summarizes the Game Calls.  That makes the process of compiling the results much faster.

Thanks again to all of you.  As Spock would say, "Live Long and Prosper".
