Tugby Results May 25, 2014 - Spring Season Complete!

End of the Spring Season!

Last Sunday marked the end of the Spring Season for Tugby.  Next Sunday is the beginning of the Summer Season.  Probably because of the Memorial Day Holiday in the US, we only had four players.  I had thought about cancelling play, but that did not seem to be fair to the non-US players.

Player stats for Sunday below:

Forrest Gibbs	3	3
Dagger Ulrik	2	3
Yasmin (YouAintSeenMe)	1	3
Allie Tomsen	0	3

And cumulative stats for the Season below.  Forrest and Lucky tied for total points earned, but Lucky had a better win percentage.  Lynn and Carla had outstanding win percentages as well.

See you next week!!

2014 Hot Pucks - A Benefit for Sail for Life / Relay for Life

HOT PUCKS!

On May 24th, I ran a "Hot Pucks" Event for Sail for Life.  The basic premise is that a contestant will try to push a "puck" down the Tugby Field with their Tugboat, around a buoy at the far end and return to the start line.  A regulation sailing start-line is used to record the time.  Believe me, this is much harder than it sounds.  I had set out the Sail for Life Donation Kiosk ahead of time for folks to donate when they practiced or just when they felt like donating.  The event was fun and even more importantly it raised 29,000 Lindens for Relay for Life.

Thanks to MarkTwain White for this picture of the assembled contestants (the cow was not allowed to compete).  A number of people ran the course, some more successfully than others!  I had been asked to make the course easier, so I removed the requirement to thread the needle between two buoys in the middle of the field.  That was proving just TOO hard for the contestants.

The best time was posted by YouAintSeenMe (better known as Yasmin).  Her time of 48 seconds won the day.  Carla Eisenhart was the closest runner up with a great time of 54 seconds.  It is not a coincidence that these two ladies are also some of the best active Tugby players.  Congratulations to both of you and to EVERYONE who participated.  The purpose of having fun while raising money for Sail for Life was achieved!

We had an interesting set of games what with flying coconuts and a game when Red was all set to win, but Green staged a massive comeback to win.

I think that everyone had a pretty good time and no one broke a fingernail (well I'm not sure about THAT).  The individual scores for the day are below and the season total is below that.

3 / 4 CARLA

Tugby Results for April 13, 2014

Lag seemed to be the winner last week.  I'm going to file a ticket with Linden Lab asking if there is anything odd going on.  Some people have indicated that they think it is because of Dutch Harbor (the new sim to the south), but we have only had problems for a couple of weeks and that region has been there a lot longer.  Anyway, we played 3 on 3 and completed four games.  I'm not going to be here next Sunday as it is Easter.  If someone else wants to run games, they are free to do so.  If you need the ability to send notices to the Tugby Captains group, let me know.
