Tugby Results Updated for April 17th,2016 - Spring Season

Another sunny Sunday of Tugby in Santa Cruz.  The first game lasted 26 minutes and had two ties!!  The perfect game.  Finally the Green team pulled it out.  The second game only had one tie, and the third and fourth none.  Oh well... it was still fun.

See you next Sunday!

Tugby Results for April 10, 2016

Last Sunday's Tugby matches were challenging in that SL seemed to be having serious issues.  During the second match, we had to stop play and reset the region because the lag was so bad.  There were flying Tugboats everywhere!!  I was doing an experiment with Live Streaming of the match (see video below).  I don't believe that had any impact on the region's performance.  If someone knows differently, please let me know.  After Tugby, I downloaded the Live Stream video file and edited it a bit.  I added a music score and sped up the action a bit.  At about 7:46 on the video, you will see the flying Tugs!  Below is the video, results for the day, and results for the season.  See you on Sunday!

Sunday's results:

1 / 2 ALLIE
2 / 2 BURT
1 / 1 CARLA
0 / 2 CAROL
1 / 2 DAGGER

Tugby Results for April 3, 2016

Last Sunday we had 8 players come to play.  As always, it was quite competitive.  When we first came to the region, the lag was terrible.  I reset the region and things were fine.  I think that LL had some problems last Sunday grid-wide.  Below are the results!  Hope to see you on Sunday.

1 / 3 ALLIE
0 / 3 CARLA
3 / 3 CAROL
0 / 3 DAGGER
1 / 3 FORREST
1 / 3 LYNN
3 / 3 SONIA
3 / 3 YASMIN

Tugby Results Updated for March 27th, 2016

We again had a good group of folks show up to play last Sunday.  Not as many ties as I would prefer... but I'll take what I can get.  We actually had three games in which the Red team won with a score of 3 to 0.  While this might appear to be a lop-sided game, in reality, the Green team in each case could just as easily have won.

Sunday's results:

0 / 1 ALLIE
3 / 4 CAROL
1 / 4 CLARA
1 / 3 DAGGER
3 / 4 FORREST
2 / 3 LYNN
1 / 3 SONIA
2 / 4 YASMIN

Tugby Results Updated for March 20, 2016

Next Sunday is Easter Sunday, but never fear, I will be available to ref the regular Sunday morning games.

Some MIGHT wonder why I always like the tie games.  I really enjoy watching two equally matched teams fight to the "death".  As some of you have observed, however, the regular players are playing at a very high level.  At the same time, when newer people come and play there is a spirit of helping that is quite good to see.  So don't be afraid to come and try us out.  Also, the Tugby field is available whenever you want to come and practice.  And remember, the overall goal is to have fun and to turn your fingers into bloody stumps (just kidding about that last).

Last Sunday's results:

1 / 1 ALLIE

0 / 1 BURT

0 / 4 CAROL

2 / 4 DAGGER

2 / 4 FORREST

4 / 4 LYNN

2 / 4 SONIA2 / 4 YASMIN

Tugby Results Updated for March 13, 2016

We had a strong turnout last Sunday with nine people turning up to play.  We got four games in, but the last one was a best 2 of 3 due to time constraints.  Remember that you are welcome to use the Tugby field at times over than Sunday morning.  There is one rule:  Remember to have fun!

1 / 4 CAROL

Spring Tugby Season Begins - Results for March 6, 2016

Last Sunday saw the beginning of the Spring Tugby season.  It also saw the return of an experienced Tugby player that we haven't see for awhile - Jean Quartz.  Welcome back Jean!

For some reason, as we gathered for play, I was reminded of seeing the Water Taxis in Victoria perform their Sunday morning ballet.  Perhaps we could do some precision formations ourselves.  See an example below:
