Tugby Results Updated for March 27th, 2016

We again had a good group of folks show up to play last Sunday.  Not as many ties as I would prefer... but I'll take what I can get.  We actually had three games in which the Red team won with a score of 3 to 0.  While this might appear to be a lop-sided game, in reality, the Green team in each case could just as easily have won.

Next Sunday is Easter Sunday, but never fear, I will be available to ref the regular Sunday morning games.

Some MIGHT wonder why I always like the tie games.  I really enjoy watching two equally matched teams fight to the "death".  As some of you have observed, however, the regular players are playing at a very high level.  At the same time, when newer people come and play there is a spirit of helping that is quite good to see.  So don't be afraid to come and try us out.  Also, the Tugby field is available whenever you want to come and practice.  And remember, the overall goal is to have fun and to turn your fingers into bloody stumps (just kidding about that last).

We had a strong turnout last Sunday with nine people turning up to play.  We got four games in, but the last one was a best 2 of 3 due to time constraints.  Remember that you are welcome to use the Tugby field at times over than Sunday morning.  There is one rule:  Remember to have fun!

Spring Tugby Season Begins - Results for March 6, 2016

Last Sunday saw the beginning of the Spring Tugby season.  It also saw the return of an experienced Tugby player that we haven't see for awhile - Jean Quartz.  Welcome back Jean!  

For some reason, as we gathered for play, I was reminded of seeing the Water Taxis in Victoria perform their Sunday morning ballet.  Perhaps we could do some precision formations ourselves.  See an example below:

End of the Winter Tugby Season 2016!

Last Sunday saw the last games of the Winter Tugby Season.  We have had a total of 13 different players join us for these games.  Some don't stay to play more than once or twice, but I'm hoping that all who play enjoy it.  I'm always impressed by the good natured teasing and banter that go along with the games.  People do play hard and WANT to win... but more than that they want to have fun.  Thanks to each and every one of you who come to play.  I enjoy running these games!!
