Tugby Results: First Games of the Winter Season 2016

Tugby Results for November 22, 2015

Now that Gobble Gobble day is over, I am posting the results of last Sunday's matches.  So far this season, we have had 18 people join us to play Tugby.  Some return again and again, and some just play one day or one game and don't come back.  We are always a really friendly bunch, so even if you just want to come and watch you can feel free to do so!  We have another new player, welcome Adele!  You had a great opening with us and we hope you come back to play.

Tugby Results November 15th, 2015

Only two more weeks until the end of the Fall Season of Tugby.  The first Sunday of December begins the Winter Season. And just a little forewarning... I will be gone on a short vacation beginning on December 6th.  I'm sure that a worthy substitute referee will be available.


The competition last Sunday was intense.  The first game was 17 minutes long.  The second one was was 44 minutes long!!  We did replay one point as Lynn crashed during the play.  Below is the results for the day and cumulative results below that.  See you next week!

Tugby Results Updated for November 1st... and results of Killer Tugby Contest

My apologies for not posting the results for the games on October 25th.  I was with my mother most of that week and she did pass away on the 28th.  Now the funeral is behind me and I can get back to a more normal schedule.  I want to thank those that expressed their condolences.  My mother was almost 100 years old at her passing, and I think that by and large she had a very fulfilling life.  

I will be doing a Killer Tugby video, but am still running a bit behind.  I DO want to post the results.  Allie and Carla share first place.  Results below:

The results for last Sunday's games are posted here. These games were very competitive with two of the three games having tied games at the end of four. Team work was especially good in this series. Well done!!


In other news, I have slightly modified the Killer Tugby contest. This year the contest will be determined by vote rather than by judges. Voting is free and anyone can vote for any entry once a day. Voting stands will be placed at the Tugby field and contests will rezz their boats in front of one. I'll place 10 voting stands and if we need more will set up more. Killer Tugby Revived! and Results from October 10

Killer Tugby contest revived!  I would like to bring back the killer tugby contest from a couple of years ago.  Let your creative juices flow and edit your Tugboat.  See the video below for the last time we did this.  It was a fun thing to do!




Rules:

Here is your challenge!  Between now and Saturday the 31st at 8 am, you will need to take a Tugby and decorate it for Halloween!  You can do anything with it you like... but it has to be scary. You can texture your boat and add / delete prims.  But the Tugboat needs to be drivable, so a max of 31 prims.    

You must rezz your decorated Tugboat in the Tugby Field no later than 8 am on Saturday the 31st.  I will determine an impartial way to judge the entries and will announce the winner at Tugby on November 1st.   I will design a trophy for the winner and the runner-up.

What a GREAT day of Tugby last Sunday!!  We only played two games because they were so fiercely fought that both games were tied up before the final score.  The first game took 34 minutes to complete.  The second game took 18 minutes.

Fall 2015 Season Begins!!

Last Sunday (yesterday!!) we had a good group of players.  Everyone seemed to have a good time.  We play tested the fixes that Yasmin made, and the puck de-rezzer and the score update is now working.  Makes it much easier for the person running the games.  You can almost take a nap now!  

Next Sunday, I will be gone on vacation and Lynn has graciously agreed to run the games.  Thanks a bunch Lynn.

Tugby Results - End of the Summer Season 2015

Last week's play saw some problems with the Tugby Control Hud.  The end line would announce a goal, but the puck would not automatically derez and the score did not automatically adjust.  Thankfully there were manual overrides which allowed me to do that.  Afterwards Yasmin did some of her magic with the scripting and it should / will work now.  We were able to play five full games and the group seemed to have a lot of fun.  Next week the scores get reset to zero and we start the Fall Season (September, October, and November).  Results below as always:

Tugby Results Updated for August 23, 2015

Well this past week has been a week from hell on the computer front. During the first game last Sunday, my computer gave up its ghost.  I was able to phone MTW on my cell and ask him to notify you of the problem.  I'd been having previous problems, but thought I had them fixed.  The bottom line was that the motherboard gave up the ghost and had to be replaced.  Thanks to Newegg, I was able to buy a new one and get it second day air.  Woot.  Many Many thanks to Yasmin for jumping in and running the next two games. 

I would also like to welcome back two very good players that we have not seen for a long time, Forrest Gibbs and Jean Quartz.  Welcome back.  

Oh, and I also apologize for announcing that the games would be at 10 am... I hadn't woken up sufficiently.  I announced based on MY time, not SLT.  My apologizes again!!

Tugby Field Upgraded! Plus Results from August 2nd, 2015

For quite some time the Tugby players have had a problem on the Tugby pitch with "out of pitch" players.  It usually occurs during a furious scrum when every Tug is fighting for the puck.  A player gets accidentally pushed OUT of the pitch.  While this does not happen very often, the only fair thing to do was to stop play and restart the point from the beginning.  While fair this was also rather disconcerting to the players.  

To correct the problem,  the Tugby field has now had its sides doubled in size.  See picture below.  Hope it solves the problem.

Tugby Results Updated for July 19, 2015

Many thanks to Lynn for running Tugby last Sunday.  At 2 am Sunday morning I woke up with a terrible pain in my right eye.  I went to the Emergency Room and was diagnosed with a corneal abrasion, a scratch on my cornea.  I was given eye drops and sent home. MUCH pain all day and when I went to an eye doctor on Monday, the abrasion had tripled in size because my eyelid rubbed on it.  The eye doctor inserted a "band-aid" in the form of a contact lens. I had immediate pain relief!  As I am writing this on Friday, the eye is still a little bloodshot, but mostly healed.  I should be back and ready to lead on Sunday.  Results for last Sunday are below and below that the cumulative results for the season.

Tugby Results Updated for July 5th, 2015

We missed playing Tugby on June 28th as the USS (United Sailing Sims) were experiencing a good size griefer attack.  It took MTW and me about 4+ hours to get things back to almost normal.  We had to turn scripts and physics off in all of our sims.  We FINALLY got the attention of the Lindens which helped a lot.  The results below are for July 5th.  We had a new player, Bridget Beresford.  Hope you come again!!
